Student Projects
The Civil War class and Civil War Brigade both heavily involve students in a variety of both curricular and extracurricular projects. These projects are often student driven and organized. This requires having a handful of students who have the passion and leadership to see these tasks through to completion. My students have completed some superb video projects that are unfortunately too large in size to upload here. Once these students have graduated I will attempt to see if I can load some of the onto YouTube.

2011 Preservation Essay Contest
Recognition
Civil War Trust
Last Spring a few students submitted essays in the 2011 Civil War Trust Essay Contest. The theme was "Preserving 150 Years of History: Secession and the War’s Beginnings". One of my proudest days as an educator was when I received the email that two of my students had placed in the national contest. Below are links to their essays. These students won 2 memberships in the Civil War Trust as well as a combined $1000 for their fine work. Way to go girls!
