Welcome to the History Brigade
"Teaching history by living history..."
The History Brigade is a student service organization in northwestern Ohio. The Brigade was founded in 2010 as a student service organization at Waynesfield-Goshen High School in Waynesfield, Ohio. Since then we have raised over $5,000 for Civil War preservation and assisted organizations such as the Civil War Trust and the Gettysburg Foundation.
In 2016 we moved to Hardin Northern High School in Dola, Ohio.
Our mission is to increase awareness, stimulate interest, promote preservation and education of the American Civil War and American society from the era, and to have a fun time while doing it!

Our Story
The Civil War Brigade was founded in the fall of 2010 when students in my Civil War class seized the initiative to take their love of learning and fun further than the classroom.
Their story has received national recognition and is featured by the Civil War Trust for Teaching Civics Through Preservation.
